Arider Hands-free iPhone app for cyclists
Sep 27th
Well it isn’t fair if you suffer from the loss of a cool digital navigation system just because you ride a bicycle and not an over-polluting car. So we have this cool iPhone application that attaches to your helmet with the help of a mount and is connected to an eyepiece that displays the navigation graphics. Cool, huh?
The application’s called Arider and is developed by Tokyo based company, Ubiquitous Technologies. Now you can be a cool looking biker without a roaring engine.

Bravo Gustavo iPhone app lets you flail your phone around like a pro
Sep 26th
Bravo Gustavo is the new iPhone App from the LA Philharmonic. Think of it like Guitar Hero, but for conductors, and using your phone. Yes, that means you flail your iPhone around like a conductor’s baton, hoping it doesn’t slip through your hands. Just like LA Philharmonic Music Director Gustavo Dudamel! He’s dreamy.

iPhone case fends off deadly cellphone radiation
Sep 18th
You want to scare somebody? Just mutter something about radiation and you’ll be able to sell an iPhone case for $60. That’s one dollar for each percentage point of deadly cellphone radiation this silicone case is said to prevent from reaching into your brain. Could this be a lifesaver?
Despite the lack of credible evidence, the fearmongers at Pong Research hope to sell their iPhone case by comparing cellphone radiation with cigarette smoking. Will cellphones kill you with brain cancer? It’s possible, but unlikely, according to the World Health Organization. But there’s a big difference between possibility and probability, which is a concept that most people have trouble grasping. Beyond that, iPhones are not even in the top 20 emitters of cellphone radiation.
Pong Research should also make hats out of this magical silicone stuff, because this tin foil we’ve been wearing is just not very comfortable.

iPhone Stand Made of Laser Cut Acrylic Scarps
Jul 18th
Just when you thought iPhone/iPod stands were getting a tad too boring, Tod Kurt has created an interesting stand using laser cut acrylic scraps. The luminous stand seems to generate light on its own, though it is just an illusion. He used four pieces of laser cut acrylic straps to build the stand and holds the iPhone snugly. One of the slices also provides a channel for the cable to escape and the entire stand is held together by screws and nuts.
Tod was worried that the nuts might scratch his glossy table and hence he used a little bit of hot glue feet to make sure the bolts did not behave in an abrasive manner.
iPhone stands were quite a rage last season when we saw a number of them in different themes. However, lately hardly any interesting iPhone stand has been created and perhaps Tod’s is the only interesting one I have seen lately. The reason why he did not use an additional layer on the top is because he did not have long enough screws.
He plans to look for longer screws and make a new one so that the dock gets bigger in order to encompass the bottom of the iPhone. Adding more mass to the dock would only make it more stable, he feels. Tod Kurt has provided all the files required to learn the method on his blog. You could try and learn how to make a Cardboard iPhone Dock, if the laser one above seems too difficult. Or perhaps you could try the iPod Bathroom Dock if you are too lazy to build anything on your own.
